Werner Eugene Dierks' Obituary
Werner Eugene Dierks, 98, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Golden Years Homestead, Fort Wayne. Born in West Bloomfield, Wisconsin he was the son of the late August and Bertha (Hakeneis) Dierks. He started his 42-year career in education in Chicago. Shortly after that, in 1946, he moved to Fort Wayne where he was a teacher and principal at both Concordia Lutheran School on Anthony Boulevard and St. Peter's Lutheran School, retiring in 1985. He was also a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church where he was an organist and choir director. He was also an avid Green Bay Packers and Chicago Cubs fan. He is survived by his children, Dick (Ellen) Dierks of Appleton, WI, David Dierks of Fort Wayne, and DeAnn Dierks of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Sarah, Stephanie, Jonathon, and Andrea; eight great grandchildren; and one step great grandson. He was also preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Evelyn Dierks in 1989; second wife, Maxine in 2005; and son, Duane Dierks in 1965. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 7710 E. State Blvd, Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. The funeral service will be streamed lived on the church website at www.stpetersfw.org. Visitation is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial in the church cemetery.
