Mr. Dierks was the most loving, caring and gentle man I have ever met. He was the principal at St. Peter's Lutheran Elementary School when I attended there. I will never forget the time one of my classmates said he would give me $5 to climb out the window during a class with him. I attempted to do so, but Mr. Dierks called me out on it. He wasn't mean, wasn't angry. In fact, I think he was amused. I told him the deal and offered to split the $5 with him. To this day I could have sworn I saw the slightest smile cross his face. I think he had a genuine sense of humor he kept hidden most of the time. I will miss him dearly.

Mr. Dierks was my father's 8th grade teacher and basketball coach at Concordia during the 1948-49 school year. My dad, Fred Sheets, mentioned him frequently over the years. I know they used to run into each other from time to time. Earlier this spring, my dad was at Golden Years for rehab. My dad was taken to the eating area on the first day there. I was lagging behind. From down the hall, I heard, "Freddy Sheets!" I couldn't begin to imagine who was there that would call him that. And then, I finally met Mr. Dierks. What a lovely man! I now know why my father thought so much of him. Our sympathy to your family at this difficult time. May God grant you the peace that only He can give.

So sorry to hear the news today. Werner (Mr. Dierks) was Principal when I was in school at St. Peter's Lutheran School. I was in class with and good friends with Dave growing up as well. My deepest sympathy to the family at this time. -- George Nietert

Sorry to read of the passing of your father. I have fond memories of my eighth grade with him at Concordia. He always stopped by to visit with me at my office at Lincoln Bank. He had such a dry sense of humor.

We are so sorry in the passing of your father. He was such a wonderful man We have many memories. We lived by him at Golden Years. Had lunches with him and enjoyed talking with him and learning about him. His career, his work places, his family and his Wisconsin Green Bay Packers.
What a joy to have gotten to know him. We will cherish the memories.
