I've known Tom since our school years at Harlan. He was a big tease, always full of fun. Then, when He had his auto accident many year later, I was one of his nurses during his long recovery at PV. No matter how bad he felt or how much pain he was in, he always had a smile or a wisecrack to share. All the staff knew, if we were having a rough day we could count on Tom to lift our spirits. He and His roommate, Jack, kept us laughing and brightened our day. In turn, we were not above playing tricks on them and "getting even" for their humor! However, behind that smile was a kind and thoughtful man with a big heart, someone who cared about his family and other people--and that is the best memory of him. My biggest regret is that, over the years I lost contact with him, and missed his great smile and hearty laugh. My thoughts and prayers are with all his family. May God's love bring you peace and comfort during this difficult time. I know he was a great blessing to you all, and his home-going will leave an empty place in your hearts, but his work on earth is complete and His heavenly Father has called him to his reward. What more could we ask for him that this? God blses you all.
