Robert Bob Mattingly's Obituary
Robert “Bob” Mattingly, 82, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Parkview Hospital Randallia, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne he was the son of the late John and Gertrude (Kennerk) Mattingly. He was a member of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the American Legion Post #330, New Haven. Bob retired from International Harvester in 1985 after 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, a good hand of cards, and was a local sports enthusiast.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret (Lothamer) Mattingly; daughter, Sue Bunnell of New Haven; grandchildren, Joel (Brittany) Bunnell of New Haven and Leesa Bunnell of Fort Wayne; great grandchildren, Wren Bunnell and “Baby” Bunnell (due soon); sister in law, Doris Mattingly of Angola; nieces and nephews, Pat, Zack, Kathryn and Jackie; trusted friends, Shorts and Russ. He was preceded in death by brothers, Richard and William “Bill” (his twin) Mattingly; son in law, John Bunnell; granddaughter, Lindsey Bunnell; brother in law and sister in law, J. Tom and Darlene Lothamer.
Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 943 Powers St., New Haven with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to service. Father Bill Sullivan officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery with military honors. Preferred memorials are to St. Johns School, New Haven and Parkview Home Health & Hospice in lieu of flowers and plants. Arrangements by Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven.
