My sympathy to you in the loss of your grandma, mom, and sister. God so loved Marlene as she shared and shared and shared His word with children and adults. I don't have a favorite memory but many blessings she gave me in my life. I remember so many children accepted Jesus as their Savior because Marlene shared with them how God loved them. She never read a lesson but spoke from her heart as she shared words of the Bible. I do remember however she liked to win at games she played (especially with Keith) and enjoyed the games she had planned when teaching. Ideas flowed in multiples and were used in her ministry to help others and tell others about Jesus. Nancy Krick

I worked for Marlene in CEF over 20 years ago and have great memories of our time spent together in what is now the Salvation Army building on Clinton. I was in my early 20's and didn't know anything about the ins and outs of running a ministry, so I learned a lot by observing Marlene! She was such a strong woman, even through all the challenges she faced. I also was on the CEF board for several years, so I continued to see Marlene's heart for leading kids to Christ. I haven't had contact with her for awhile, although I did run into her at Dr. Dan's office a few years ago, and it was GREAT to catch up a little. I won't be able to come to her service tomorrow, but please know that I'm there in spirit and I will praying for her family. I'm so glad Marlene is now in heaven enjoying sweet fellowship with Jesus!

Marlene was my bookkeeper, friend, and sometimes mentor for over 15 years. She helped keep me organized and on my toes. Never afraid to say what was on her mind, she always said and had an opinion on what was right and the right way to do things whether an accounting process or how to handle an administrative or marketing issue. Although she loved accounting, she was really in her element when working on a creative project like how to outreach to pastors or others about the practice. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and would often be working on a project or something special to surprise them with. In addition to be creative, she was an amateur magician and had many surprises for friends and relatives. She spent a number of hours working with my granddaughter Meagan who would visit her often when she was younger and loved "playing office" with grandma Marlene. She will be greatly missed. May God Bless her family and expand her influence in all the lives she touched for Christ, which is her greatest wish of that I am sure.

Lornelle and I had many memories of playing at Uncle Oswin and Aunt Esther's house. We played mostly with Valier and Marlene as Keith and Gyneth were little ones. There was always lots of food and fun and love for everyone. Marlene was always so happy. Much love and prayers to all of you. Cousin Lucille
