Marilyn Elaine Headford, 81, of Troy, OH, formerly of Fort Wayne, passed away suddenly Sunday, May 15, 2016, at home. Born in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Selma (Bohn) Stemmler. She was a lifelong member Read Obituary
Aunt Marilyn was always laughing and always happy it seemed. I remember many times when we would drive around in her big black car, my mom who was her sister Martha, her sister Catherine and me, we had a blast in Fort Wayne. I remember one funny time she was visiting us down in Atlanta and we all went out to eat at an Italian restaurant and aunt Marilyn left a stick of gum for a tip! it was funny at how horrified Aunt Catherine was!
I met Marilyn when her oldest daughter married my brother. I was the priest at the wedding, and our two families have been interconnected ever since. My last visit with Marilyn was during a trip to Troy OH. She was so proud of her home and insisted I come over for a visit. She made me feel at home. That is what family is all about, being at home. May she now enter into the home prepared for her since before the creation of the world. Rest in peace, Marilyn. Be with God and those family members who have gone before you. You are loved and will be missed by our combined family.
Ray and I are so very sorry for your loss. Marilyn was such a joy to talk to, always very positive and I know for a fact that she loved and cherished her family. She would talk all the time about the family and how very proud she was of them. She will be very much missed by all who knew her. Her love for her God was also very empowering, she never gave up and would always remind me that we are never guaranteed tomorrow, we live for the day that God gave us. I will always remember her wisdom and her and our chats.
