Marilyn J. Gilbert's Obituary
Marilyn J. Gilbert, 82, died Thursday, December 13, 2012. Born in Woodburn, she was the daughter of the late Emil and Artie Messmann. Marilyn was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, New Haven; and had worked as a cook and waitress at several local restaurants through the years.
She is survived by her children: Jane (Jerry) Kortenber of Sarasota, FL, Peggy Funk (Dan Kneubuhler) of Leo, Robert (Stacey) Gilbert of Fort Wayne, and Dennis Gilbert of Austin, TX; brother: Robert Messmann of Fort Wayne; sister: Edna Roemke of Leo; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Gilbert in 2003 and daughter, Gwyn Lynette.
Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012 at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 800 Green St., New Haven with calling one hour prior to service. Pastor David Stecker officiating. Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial is in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Woodburn. Preferred memorials are to Central Lutheran School.
