Linda S. Schlie's Obituary
Linda S. Schlie, 52, of Woodburn, Indiana was called home to her Lord Thursday, January 9, 2014 after a courageous eight year battle with cancer. Born in Wausau, WI, she was a graduate of Concordia College, St. Paul, MN. Linda was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Woodburn. IN. She was a grade school teacher for over 20 years, including the past 12 years as a 1st grade teacher at Woodburn Lutheran School, Woodburn, Indiana.
Linda is survived by her sons, Nathan (Rachel), Schlie of Fredericksburg, TX, Benjamin, Joseph, and Jesse Schlie all of Woodburn, IN; mother, Fern Banik of Wausau, WI; sisters, Jackie (Al) Strassburg of Wausau, WI, Paulette (Rev. Jerome) Stecker of Sherwood, WI, Kathleen Sumrall of Sparta, WI and Kris (Rev James) Koss of Hardin, MT; mother-in-law, Elaine Schlie of Fort Wayne; siblings-in-law, Peter Schlie, David (Abby) Schlie, Joseph (Suzy) Schlie, Gail (Paul) Nicholaysen, Susan (Ernie) Hauser and Jane (Joel) Koehler; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Samuel Schlie in 2005; father, Herb Banik; and father-in-law, Rev. David Schlie.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Monday at Christ Lutheran Church, 4412 Park St., Woodburn, IN with calling one hour prior. Rev. James Koss officiating. Calling is also 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the church. Burial in the church cemetery. Preferred memorials are to Woodburn Lutheran School, Woodburn, IN.
