Lavern H. Steinman's Obituary
Lavern Steinman, 76, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at Parkview Hospital - Randallia, Fort Wayne. He spent his first days in Ohio and his last in Indiana and he called both home over his years. He was the son of the late Gerald and Ruth (Worestein) Steinman. He served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam war. He retired from Navistar after decades of service and enjoyed more than 20 years of retirement bliss. Lavern was a kind and gentle man who had an impeccable eye for detail, enjoyed photography and nature, and never missed an opportunity to make someone smile.
He is survived by his siblings, Dean Steinman of Rockville, MD, Roger (Marlene) Steinman of Tampa, FL, Barbara (Francis) Raskauskas of Seaford, DE, and Darl (Susan) Steinman of Auburn; sisters-in-law, Bev Erwin of Auburn, Laura Walsh-Steinman of Fairfax, VA, and Linda (Schwartz) Steinman of Butler, IN; and beloved nieces and nephews, Jerry, Brad, Ryan, Stacy, Dan, Doug, Buddy, Andrew, Stephanie, Gaven, Maia, Kylee, Kyle, Cameron, and Hannah. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Buddy, Larry, and Eddie Steinman; and niece, Julie Steinman.
