Forever our classmate.....New Haven Class of '65
Shortly after joining Raytheon, I had the pleasure to work with Jess on a project which lasted 25 plus years until we both retired together on the same day. There were countless conversations in his office about everything under the sun, but often where we were going to play golf or go to lunch. I don’t think I’ve ever met anybody as even tempered with as great a sense of humor. He was generous and friendly to a fault, and was a joy to be around. The trees are to replace the ones we hammered with golf balls over the years. I ask only that they be planted away from any fairway, so he always will have a clear shot at the green. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. I was happy to call him my good friend, and I will miss him dearly.
Jess was one of my favorite coworkers at Magnavox-Raytheon. He was a friend of all, but especially Laurie Williams, another of our coworkers, who was seriously handicapped but as competent and cheerful as they come. Jess was Laurie’s best friend at work, often arranging lunch outings with her and us other engineers. That’s the main way I got to know Jess, but it was a great and unforgettable way. I don't doubt Jess and Laurie are together again, sharing stories forever. Memory Eternal, Jess!
