Joel Bartholomew, 26, of Corpus Christi, formerly of New Haven passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Christus Spohn Memorial Medical Center, Corpus Christi, TX. Born in Fort Wayne, he was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven. The 2007 New Haven High School graduate enjoyed golf, soccer, and playing guitar. He was currently serving his country in the US Coast Guard where he was a proud cook.
He is survived by his parents, Carl and Joan Bartholomew; siblings, Derren (Jacob) Gaff and Tannis (John) Bennett both of New Haven, Jason (Michelle) Bartholomew of St. Clair, MI, and Tracy Malcolm of Fort Wayne; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Urman and Hildah Bartholomew and Jay and Margaret White.
Mass of Christian Burial is 12 noon, Monday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 943 Powers St., New Haven with calling one hour prior. Father Bill Sullivan officiating. Calling is also 2 to 7 Sunday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial in the church cemetery with military honors.
