I didn't know Joel personally, but I know the type of person it takes to serve his country. RIP fellow Guardian!!!

I was so very saddened to learn of Joel's passing and want you all to know that my heart, thoughts and prayers are with you today and always. I cannot imagine the pain that you are feeling and wish with all my heart that I could be with you during this oh so difficult time. I am with you in spirit and pray that God gives you the strength to go on as your most precious son is received in Heaven. I love you all so much.

Jason and Family, your in my families thoughts and prayers. Joel was serving his nation, so others can have there freedoms. That is an Honor that many will never know.
While serving in the military I had the wonderful opportunity to meet Jason. I was so looking forward for that same opportunity to meet Joel. When I learned of the tragic accident I booked reservations at Nave Corpus starting the 3rd of January. I figured after the holidays I could meet Joel in his recovery mode. I guess God had other plans for Joel. We never met cousin, but we were still family and brothers in arms.
