Jay B. Baney's Obituary
Jay B. Baney, 86, of Fort Wayne, died Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Canterbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Marlett, Mich. he was the son of the late George and Mabel Baney. The WWII Army Air Corp. veteran was a former member of the American Legion Post 47. He retired in 1988 from Magnavox after 36 years.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Shirley; children, Duane (Ann) Baney of Ashland, Ohio and Vickie (Bill) Lewis-McEldowney of Fort Wayne; step-sons, Bob (Sue) Byrd of New Haven and Bill (Marglo) Byrd of Tampa, FL; and siblings, George (Mary Lou) Baney of Fort Wayne and Marie Vitale of Mich.; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Ralph, Dorothy, Edna, and Merle.
Funeral service is 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2012 at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Pastor Rick Taylor officiating. Calling is 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to Parkview Home Health & Hospice or Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
