Janice K Ort's Obituary
Janice K. Ort, 74, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 while visiting her daughter in Anacortes, WA. Born in Woodburn, she was the daughter of the late Virgil and Esther (Cartwright) Coomer. She was a member of Central Church, Fort Wayne, Goldwing Road Riders Assoc., and the Red Hat Society. Janice was the office manager at Valspar where she retired after 22 years. She also was a secretary at the Educational Department at Parkview, and a board member of the Fort Wayne Health and Education Foundation.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Manfred “Doug” Ort; children, Kim (Brice Shaw) Ort of Anacortes, WA, and Keith (Kelli) Ort of Syracuse, IN; sister, Marianne (R. Hugh) Stevenson of Bloomington, IL; grandchildren, Grant, Samantha, and Alexandra Meeker and step-grandson Chase Shaw; Tyler, Ryan, twins Kylee and Ashlee Ort. She was preceded in death by her brother James Coomer.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Wednesday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling one hour prior to service. Pastor Don Delagrange officiating. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m Tuesday at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to the American Diabetes Association.
