Shortly after my husband, Chip, and I joined the Gold Wing Road Riders Association [GWRRA], we met Jan and Doug Ort, and they quickly became our "Mentors," guiding us and explaining how GWRRA worked. We rode our Gold Wings together, and, no matter what the weather was, Jan was cheerful about it, even when it rained. Since we both belonged to GWRRA Indiana Chapter D-2 and since we were both named "Janice," it was comical when someone, especially if it was Doug or Chip, would call out "Janice!" because both myself and Jan would typically respond at the same time. I have many treasured memories of Jan, some of which include: attending social gatherings at her home, participating in the Bible Study Fellowship [BSF] program together, going shopping, and pontooning in Florida. Jan was the consummate hostess; her bubbly laughter and mischievous grin sparked a feeling of sincere caring, comfort and genuine friendship. Jan had a strong love of God, the USA, her family and friends, and GWRRA.
Knowing Jan enriched my life. Thank you, Jan Ort, for having been part of my life!
Sincerely,
Janice K. Neer
