Jeff, Darwin, and family, please accept our heartfelt condolences for the loss of such a wonderful lady.
Janet was a sweet, kind, and fun spirit. She always was willing to help others and did so with ease and joy. We remember volunteering with her and Darwin on several of Jeff's good causes. Our favorite memory was of all of us tackling stacks of letters, envelopes, and stamps and laughing at our ourselves when we seemed doomed to misplacing the correct letter with its pre-addressed envelope. We may have not been the most efficient volunteers, but we definitely had the most fun! We will miss her always. Jane and Jane
Dear Darwin, Steve, Todd, and Jeff.
Annette and I winter in Ft Myers so we will not be there to offer condolences and to say good bye to one of my favorites. It was early in elementary school at Central when my Mom wanted us to move closer to school. I couldn't believe we had moved next door to my kindergarten teacher (Miss Smith). What would I do if she told my parents about my antics from just a few years earlier? Lucky for me Jan and Darwin started having children and my fears quickly faded. I can tell you all that it did not take my parents any time at all to learn how fortunate it was to have great neighbors. Over time even a self centered teenager understood. Following college, a move to Kansas, and marriage, one of the constants for which my wife and I looked forward to when returning home visits was getting to catch up some with Jan and Darwin. Jan got to tell and retell the story of a school fight following me home and her call to my folks. We also got to retell other stories, from baby sitting, to flowers being picked, etc. I know that if my parents were still with us, they would want you all to know how much respect and love they had for you all. Please accept our sincere condolences and sympathy. Annette and I will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, John and Annette Stemmler
Jeff and family, I am so sorry for your loss. May God's loving arms surround you with comfort and hope. Lucy Hess
