James Martin Long's Obituary
James Martin Long, 94, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021, at his home in New Haven. Born in Ross County, Ohio he was the son of the late Martin and Luvisa (Watts) Long. He was a member of Woodburn Missionary Church. James was a lifelong farmer and cabinet maker. He went on to retire in 1990 as the owner/operator of J.M. Long Co. Inc. after 15 years. After retirement he worked for Jim Burns for 10 years. He is survived by his children, James "Steve" (Ann) Long of Corunna, K. Diane (Dan) Grostefon and Rute Linda Wahli both of New Haven; grandchildren, Jessica (Ron) Bojrab, Damon (Jennifer) Muzzy, Heather (Jeff) Rolan, Ben (Tammy) Wahli, Terach (Mike) Hoeppner-Dick, Eliyahu (Jackie) Wahli, Dinah (Bret) Miller, Yahutsadak Q. (Michal) Wahli, Stephanie (Doug) Brock, and Jamie Long; and great grandchildren, Chelsey and Kevin Brock, Devin and Cheyenne Hoeppner, Justin McLauchlin, Caleb, Ethan, and Elisabeth Muzzy, Isaiah Bojrab, Baylor, Miles, Nya, and Calen Miller, Josephine, Hudson, Dalton, Adelaide Wahli, Owen and Elaina Wahli. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 74 years, Martha Jean Long in 2018; and siblings, Richard and Robert Carl Long and Ruth Imogene Posey. Funeral service is 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with visitation one hour prior and will be streamed on the funeral home Facebook page. Pastor Greg Zern officiating. Visitation is also 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at the funeral home. Burial in IOOF Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to the church.
