Herbert L. "Herb" Bertsche's Obituary
Herbert A. "Herb" Bertsche, 79, of Woodburn, died Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Woodburn, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Bessie Bertsche. Herbert was a member of Woodburn Missionary Church, and the Woodburn Lions Club. He retired in 1998 as a truck driver for Mineweld, Inc. He also had been employed at Koester's Body Shop and Fort Wayne Auto Auction.
Herb is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Nancy Berstche of Woodburn; son, Michael (Amy) Bertsche of New Haven; grandchildren: Lucas and Katelyn Bertsche. He was preceded in death by his son, James Bertsche in 2010; brother, George Bertsche; and sister, Janice Pauline Smith.
Service is 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at the Woodburn Missionary Church, 5108 Bull Rapids Rd., Woodburn, with calling one hour prior to service. Pastor Joel DeSelm officiating. Calling is also 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the church. Burial is in Mennonite Cemetery, Woodburn. Preferred memorials are to Woodburn Missionary Church or Turnstone Center for Disabled Children and Adults. Arrangements by E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven.
