Gilbert "Gil" C. Bradtmueller's Obituary
Gilbert "Gil" Carl Bradtmueller, 86, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 19, 2022, at home. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Theodore and Clara (Bobay) Bradtmueller. He was a member of Martini Lutheran Church, New Haven. He served his country in the Army National Guard and was a member of the American Legion Post 330, Howard Bandelier VFW Post 2457, Navy Club Ship 245, and Moose Lodge 1480. He retired in 1997 from Tokheim after 42 years. He was a lifelong farmer who loved making his rounds and socializing. Those who knew him say he didn't know a stranger. He is survived by his children, Gary (Christine) and Carl (Carrie) Bradtmueller both of Fort Wayne, Beth (Michael) Savieo of Roanoke; sister, Mildred (Mickey) Dawson; sister-in-law, Gretchen Fuhrmann; and grandchildren, Jessica, John, and Jacquelyn Savieo, Wendey Gasteiger, Colin, Carson, and Cameron Bradtmueller. He was also preceded in death by his first wife of 33 years, Mary Ann (nee Tracey); second wife of 19 years, Doris (nee Schmidt); brothers, Edwin, Elmer, Arthur, Alvin "Pete", and Lawrence Bradtmueller; and sisters, Elna, Leona, Helen, Elsie, and Adelia. Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 23, 2022, at Martini Lutheran Church, 333 Moeller Rd, New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2022, at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial in Martini Lutheran Cemetery, New Haven.
