Erma L. Henderson's Obituary
Erma L. Henderson, 87, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2015 at Woodview Healthcare, Fort Wayne. Born in Ossian, she was the daughter of the late Rufus and Marie (Witte) Werling. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, New Haven; Lutheran Women's Missionary League; Federation of Lutheran Women; Concordia Seminary Guild, Fort Wayne; and Emanuel Ladies Society. She worked at International Harvester for nine years and with dentist, Dr. Daly for 15 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Corinne Spurrier, New York, NY; son-in-law, Timothy Marquardt of New Haven; siblings, Helene (Robert) Hegerfeld of Hoagland, Iverna (Gerald) Burns of Grabill, and Ruth Ann (Richard) Bultemeyer of Ellenton, FL; sister-in-law, Jackie Werling; grandchildren, Melissa Marquardt, Emily (Jeremy) Blackman, Ian Spurrier and Graham Spurrier; and two great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Richard Henderson in 2012; daughter, Marla Marquardt; and brother, Wilmer Werling.
Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 800 Green St., New Haven with calling one hour prior. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial in the church cemetery. Preferred memorials are to Emanuel Lutheran Church or Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
