Edna E. Bruns, R.N.'s Obituary
Edna E. Bruns, R.N., 102, died peacefully, Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Gardens of Paulding Assisted Living, Paulding, OH. Born in Jackson Twp., Allen County, Ind., she was the daughter of the late William F. and Katie (Helmke) Bruns. She was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church, Woodburn. She attended Christ Lutheran School, graduated from Woodburn High School and Fort Wayne Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed by Drs. C. W. and Fred Dahling and E. M. Hoetzer. She was a retired member of ANA, a member New Haven Women's Club, LWML and Christ Lutheran Women's Society.
She is survived by sister-in-law, Alice Bruns; nieces and nephews: Peggy Dix, Lester (Betty) Bruns, Patricia (James) Herzog, Maurie (Regina) Hahn, Kathy Ann Agler, Theresa (Devon) Lehman, William (Karen) Bruns, Mary Ann (Fritz) Cooper, Janice Hahn Thomas. She was preceded in death by brothers: Alfred, Anton, Walter and Eugene Bruns; sister, Irene (Scott) Hahn; nephews: Gary Bruns, Keith Hahn, Roger Bruns, and niece, Sally Byers.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Saturday, August 11, 2012 with calling one hour prior at Christ Lutheran Church, 4412 Park St., Woodburn. Pastor Timothy Edwards officiating. Calling is 3 to 7 p.m., Friday, August 10, 2012 at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial is in the church cemetery.
