I wanted to share some of my favorite memories with Grandma Clara. I remember going to Marble Lake in the summer and staying in Grandma and Grandpa's trailer and taking their boat to Coldwater Lake and back. Quite often when we spent a weekend at Marble Lake, Grandma Clara would take me to the gift shop and buy a Beanie Baby for me. I ended up having a pretty large collection of those little stuffed animals! I know that many people have many great memories at Marble Lake with Grandma and Grandpa. As far as time spent at home, my brother, Matthew, and I would go to Grandma Clara and Grandpa Orville's house many days before school when we were young. We would spend our mornings playing uno and eating peanut butter and fluff toast. It never failed that Grandma would yell at Grandpa for trying to cheat! I loved riding in their station wagon where ever we were going, and Matt and I would always sit in the back because we thought the rear facing seat was so cool. My favorite place to go in that station wagon was to the recycling place. Grandma Clara always kept the fridge stocked with soda, and she would save the used soda cans so that Matt and I could crush them with the can crusher she had in her garage. Once there were enough cans, Grandma and Grandpa would take us to the recycling place and they would let Matt and I split the change that we would receive. We thought we were rich with that small handful of change! Grandma Clara taught me how to bake Rice Krispie treats and cookies, and everyone who knows Clara knows that she made the best treats! She would always give our family bags of treats to take with us every year we went to Florida so we would have something to snack on in the car and at the beach. These are a few of my favorite memories with Grandma Clara. She was so good to her family and everyone in her life. I love this lady so much and am so happy for her that she is now with my Grandpa in Heaven.
