Dear Monica and all of Kate’s extended family,
I was truly heartbroken to learn of Kates passing. She was; and still is, very special to me.
I have so many good memories starting when we were children, and then walking to Central Catholic in the mornings with her brother Ed. In our youth we celebrated our foolish shenanigans with abandon, and later listening to Motown CKLW from Detroit-Windsor on the AM car radio driving around, and throughout our lives supporting each other while facing the high and low challenges of adulthood. One such time was when I was standing graveside with my young son; we had just buried my wife. Everybody had left and we were standing there, numb and uncertain of the future, when I heard a soft voice speaking; giving us hope, and genuine comfort. I turned and it was Kate. It was a numinous and powerful experience, and one for which I have always been grateful.
Through everything she was consistently genuine, soft spoken, and with a kindness in her heart that was uniquely Kate. She touched many lives over the years with her kindness and positive message.
I will miss her, and will always remember her with a special fondness and with great respect.
May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest and may God reunite you with those who have passed before you and amaze you with His unconditional love.
