Bruce McIntire's Obituary
Bruce McIntire, 86, of Lincoln, Ill., formerly of New Haven, died Monday, April 9, 2012 at The Christian Village, Lincoln, Ill. Born in Boone Co., Indiana he was the son of the late Norman McIntire and Evelyn Lee. He was a former member of Colony Heights Church of Christ. The WWII Army veteran was a member of American Legion Post #201, was an aquatic therapy instructor for the Red Cross, and a swimming instructor at Park Hill School. He retired in 1979 from Preferred Risk Insurance after 16 years of service.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 8 years, Drucilla "Kitty" McIntire; children Viann (Mark) Ellsworth of New Haven, David (Judy) McIntire of South Bend, Maribeth (Walter) Brown of Churubusco, Lorraine (David) Smith and John (Carol) McIntire both of Fort Wayne; sister, Ann Lewis of Anderson; half-siblings, Nancy (David) Fleming and Dale McIntire both of California; 18 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by 1st wife of 53 years, Ruth Ann in 2002; daughter Diann; and sister, Mary Lou Harless.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Friday, April 13, 2012 at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Pastor Kevin Duval officiating. Calling is 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven with military honors. Preferred memorials are to the Cancer Service of Northeast Indiana or Multiple Sclerosis Society.
