Arthur Bernard Pflueger's Obituary
Arthur Bernard Pflueger, 83, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at home. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Henry and Mildred (Dennis) Pflueger. He was a member of Edgerton Wesleyan Church, where he taught adult Sunday School for 40 years. He also served as the treasurer and a board member during his years in the church. He served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War and retired in 1992 from Panhandle Eastern Pipeline after 25 years. After retirement he worked at the Allen Superior Court, Deer Run Wilderness Area for nine years. He was also the past president of the Monroeville Youth Baseball Association. He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Gaff) Pflueger; children, Cynthia Pflueger of Woodburn, Stanley Pflueger of Phoenix, AZ, and Steven (Carrie) Pflueger of Monroeville; sisters, Lois Finkhousen and June Baumert both of Fort Wayne; and grandchildren, Caleb, Victoria, and Samantha Pflueger. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Sharon (Ritchie) Pflueger in 2009; infant daughter, Julie Renee Pflueger; and brother, Eugene Pflueger. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Monday at Edgerton Wesleyan Church, 1717 Bertha St., Woodburn with visitation one hour prior, Pastor David Dignal officiating. Visitation is also 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the church. Burial in Monroeville Memorial Cemetery, Monroeville. Preferred memorials to National Kidney Foundation.
