Alice J. Sheak's Obituary
Alice J. Sheak, 75, died Sunday, June 9, 2013 at home. Born in Wabash, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Emma (Wilson) Sheak. She was a member of Trinity English Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne. Alice was a dedicated school teacher for 38 years having taught at Northwood Jr. High, New Haven High School before retiring from Harding High School in 1998. She was a volunteer for the Embassy Theatre, the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo, and ushered at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum and the Fort Wayne Wizards. She was a member of the New Haven Woman's Club, Fort Wayne Chapter of Eastern Star, and a life member of ISTA and NEA.
She is survived by her nieces, Jo Ellen Wespieser of Prescott, AZ and Mary Osteen of Boise, ID; nephew, John Sheak of Phoenix, AZ; and sister-in-law, Delores Sheak of Phoenix, AZ. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Harry, Max, Charles, John and Mary.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the Krauss Chapel of Trinity English Lutheran Church, 405 W. Wayne St., Fort Wayne. The Rev. Kathleen Haller officiating. Calling is 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2013 at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial is in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester. Preferred memorials are to Fort Wayne Children's Zoo or Embassy Theatre Foundation.
