I have known Alice since I was a student at Northwood Jr. HS in the late 1960's. She was a wonderful teacher--tough but always fair and with sense of humor. She has been a business customer for the past 20+ years, but I always felt compelled to treat "Miss Sheak" with the respect and deference one owes a beloved teacher. She made a lasting impression on many of us who had the pleasure of being her students.
I remember Alice as a North Sider whom I admired. Also attended Trinity Engl. Luth church - lovely place for a memorial service. May she rest in the peace of the Lord. I live in MD so cannot attend, but will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Joan Poling
Alive was a great person to work with at the Embassy. Youhave out deepest sympathy. We will miss her.
I admired Alice so much! I remember her bringing her slide show about the circus animals into Curves, sitting together listening to her chat about all their quirks, and how much she loved the elephants. She loved her dog, and all animals.
I always looked for Alice when I went to events at the Coliseum, and chatted with her at several of them, getting her insight about the various activities. She was SO funny, with a dry sense of humor.
I admired and cheered her courage as she battled cancer for so many years. Loved her various wigs! She was such a fighter with a constant great attitude. She was a great example of being tenacious in life and following your dreams.
Alice was a wonderful, amazing friend! I enjoyed each and every visit she made to workout at Curves. There is a picture of her with a t-shirt on that read "fight like a girl" that got used at a Curves convention because of her great spirit! Go with the angels Alice and regale them with your stories!!
Alice was a wonderful, kind, gentle, funny, lady. I could sit and listen to her tales for hours. There was probably nothing she didn't want to try. Her courageous battle with cancer was admirable......always had a smile. Oh and bullheaded....for sure. Loved her tales of the zoo...Kangaroos were her pet project. I so wish that I could have taken her to the zoo one more time and I could learn from her experience. Us "Red Coats" had our first Circus without Alice this year...it wasn't and wont be the same without her. She was like a kid in a candy store at Circus time. Then there are her special Christmas cards she made from her and Tess.....and Rocky the squirrel. What a creative mind she had. I always told her she was my mentor and I will miss her dearly. Rest in peace my dear friend....
