Wilma V. Mierau's Obituary
Wilma V. Mierau, 84, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Golden Years Homestead, Fort Wayne. Born in Bruce Mines, Ontario, she was the daughter of the late Aukusti and Lempi (Salo) Hyppia. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven. The dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother spent many earlier years camping and traveling with her husband and seven children. She was happiest when surrounded by her family and grandchildren at family gatherings.
She is survived by children, Peter (June) Mierau of Alamo, CA, Stefan (Robin) Mierau of Charleston, WV, David (Jennifer) Mierau of Parkland, FL, Susan (Brad) Blauser of Grabill, Diane (Brian) Dillman of Valparaiso, Theresa (Jeff) Louden of New Haven, and Nancy (Greg) Dini of Avilla; sister, Marlene Voytilla of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; and 13 grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Bruno in 2004; granddaughter, Jenna Blauser; and two brothers.
Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Saturday, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 943 Powers St., New Haven with calling one hour prior. Father Bill Sullivan officiating. Burial in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to Catholic Charities.
