Wilma Malinda Becker Martin's Obituary
Wilma Malinda Becker Martin, 97, was taken home to be with her Lord Wednesday, September 18, 2013. Born in New Haven, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Edith (nee Behrman) Becker. She was a member of St. Michael Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne and a former member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, New Haven. She worked at Rea Magnet Wire during World War II and retired from Sears Roebuck, where she worked in the display department. She was loved by many who cherished her spirit and love of life.
She is survived by her children, Linda (Clint) Lewis of Fort Wayne, Richard "Pepper" Martin of Bloomfield Hills, MI, and Robert Becker (Dana) Martin of Mendota Heights, MN; grandchildren, Tammy Bruns, Michele Woods, Marianne Caldwell, Keith Kapanowski, Shari Lewis, Cynthia Boostrom, Lisa Martin, Abbie Toomey, Cassie Martin, Spencer Martin, and Sloan Martin; ten great grandchildren; sister, Elna Szink of New Haven; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Carole Martin; brothers, Ervin, Elmer, and Carl Becker; and sisters, Naomi (nee Becker) Hathaway and Hilda (nee Becker) Gabet.
Funeral service is 2 p.m. Sunday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling two hours prior. Pastor Robert Bruckner officiating. Burial in Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery, New Haven. In lieu of flowers preferred memorials are to J.O.Y. at St. Michael Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne.
