William "Willy" Stanley VanDyke's Obituary
William “Willy” Stanley VanDyke Sr., 70, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne he was the son of the late Chesney and Elsie (Boop) VanDyke. He was a member of Edgerton Wesleyan Church, Woodburn and was a Sunday school teacher. He served his country in the US Navy during Vietnam. He worked at BF Goodrich, Woodburn for 27 years and most recently for AccuTemp Product, Inc., Fort Wayne. He enjoyed softball, collecting stamps and coins, reading and was an avid movie watcher and collector.
He is survived by his children, William VanDyke Jr. of Fort Wayne and Yvonne VanDyke of Woodburn; and sisters, Cheryl Davidson of Auburn and Melanie VanDyke of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 ½ years, Pamela in 2015; daughter, Lora VanDyke; and brothers, Chesney VanDyke Jr. and Larry “Red” VanDyke Sr.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Tuesday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling one hour prior to service. Pastor David Dignal officiating. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial in IOOF Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to Edgerton Wesleyan Church.
