William Ortner's Obituary
William Ortner, 84, of New Haven, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024, at The Waters, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Ivan and Brida (Dunwoody) Ortner. He was a past member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven. He was an engineer at BF Goodrich where he retired after 40 years. He loved carpentry, trains and tractors of all kinds and was a state fair champion with his cows. He also enjoyed his koi pond, which he built himself.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jacquelynn; children, Todd (Vanessa), Timothy, and Tammy Ortner; sister, Carol Shaffer; three grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Tina Gasteiger-Erne.
