William E. Mitchell's Obituary
William E. Mitchell, 90, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Westminster Village North, Indianapolis. Born in Huntington, he was the son of the late Henry Arthur and Una Fern (Lahr) Mitchell. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He retired in 1989 from Fort Wayne Community Schools where he held many positions, including a high school teacher, dean of boys, coach, and assistant principal. He was also the owner and operator of Amrico Business Services. Bill enjoyed golf, spending time with his family, and implementing his woodworking skills by making furniture.
He is survived by his children, Kristine (Mike) Lopresti of Richmond and Kent (Jane) Mitchell of Bartlesville, OK; siblings, Bob (Sandy) Mitchell of Huntington, Mary (Ned) Snowden of Muncie, Jim Mitchell of Independence, MO, Janie (Don) Vickery of Texas, and Linda (Arden) Geist of Springfield, OH; grandchildren, Abby (Bart) Brown and Karen (Joshua) Rice both of Indianapolis, John (Katie) Lorpresti Williamsburg, VA, Sarah (Chase) Thornhill of Tulsa, OK, Adam (Kate) Mitchell of Columbus, OH, and David Mitchell of Norman, OK; and great grandchildren, Michael Brown and Clara Mitchell. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Thelma in July 2017.
Family to receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the residence of William Mitchell, 2815 Turnpointe Blvd., Unit C., New Haven.
