William L. "Larry" Holcomb, Jr.'s Obituary
William L. "Larry" Holcomb Jr., 60, died Monday, November 12, 2012 at Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis. Born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, he was the son of Wanda Jeanette Holcomb, who survives, and the late William L. "Hawk Eye" Holcomb, Sr. He worked at B. F. Goodrich in Woodburn for 42 years, after graduating from New Haven High School. He was known for being an avid sportsman and was a member of the Thornbottom Hunting Preserve. He was an Alabama Football fan and loved cooking for others.
He is also survived by his wife of 23 years, Dawn "Kathy" Holcomb and his Brittany Spaniel, Jake; son, William L. "Trey" (Shannon) Holcomb III; daughters, Jaime (Ryan) Overholt and Amanda Holcomb; nine grandsons; two granddaughters; siblings, Don, Butch, and Jeff Holcomb, Rhonda Barton, and Marcia Tulley; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Mrs. Lola Bennett.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Friday, November 16, 2012 at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling one hour prior to service. Pastor Brian Gerig officiating. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 15, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials are to Shriner's Children's Hospital, Chicago.
