William Paul Eugene Kline's Obituary
William Paul Eugene "Bill" Kline, 83, of New Haven, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at home. Born on May 24, 1941, in Ohio City, Ohio, he was the second son of the late Clifford and Margaret (Dixon) Kline. He started working at the age of 16 in a feed mill and gas station. After high school he worked at National Seal to save funds for college. He married Mary Jane Hoenie on June 17, 1961, and went on to graduate from International Business College in 1962. After being employed by International Harvester in the accounting division for three years, he entered the insurance business in 1964 where he remained for the next 56 years. He received his Chartered Life Underwriter Degree on October 17, 1978. During his career in the insurance business, he was an agent, trainer, manager, general agent, and broker. An avid sports lover, he coached baseball and basketball in youth programs and for three years at Concordia Seminary. He was a member of Kiwanis for several years and was elected Lieutenant Governor of Indiana during that time. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council, was an elder and the head usher for 50 years. He also served on the Central Lutheran School Board. He said that the biggest accomplishment in his life was his relationship with God and the love and respect he had for the love of his life, Mary Jane, his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
He is also survived by his children, Jeffrey (Angela) Kline, Lisa (Charles) Lamb, and Beth (David) McGraw; grandchildren, Meagan (Daniel), Joshua, Benjamin, Alexandria (Jacob), Ava, Charles (Karissa), Heather (Alex), Ashley, and Thomas (Sara); and great grandchildren, Noah and Andrew Kline, Jackson and Julia Harris, Elina and Adalyn Lamb, and William and Henry Lamb. He was also preceded in death by two brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral service is 10:30 am Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 800 Green St, New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Burial in the church cemetery.
