William L. "Bill" Ryan's Obituary

William L. "Bill" Ryan, 69, of New Haven, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2015 at his residence. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Marvin and Catherine (Adams) Ryan. He was a member of Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven, and a faithful volunteer at St. Mary's Soup Kitchen. He proudly served his country in the Army Reserve. Bill had a lifetime career at Parkview Hospital in the central supply department where he retired in 2005. Bill enjoyed boating and fishing at Lake James, vacationing in Florida with family, and especially spending time with his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his brothers, Donald (Marty) Ryan of Fort Wayne, and Thomas Ryan of Hawaii; nieces and nephews, Casey (Margaret) Ryan, Kelly (Colin) Daseler, Shawn Ryan, and Dawn Ryan; cousin, Judy Bombka; and 7 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his niece, Heather Ryan.
Mass of Christian Burial is 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 943 Powers St., New Haven with calling ½ hour prior. Father Bill Sullivan officiating. Calling is also and 4 to 8 Tuesday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with a vigil at 4:30 p.m. Burial in the church cemetery. Preferred memorials are to St. Mary's Soup Kitchen and Masses.
