Waneta Shearer's Obituary
Waneta J. Shearer, 82, of New Haven, died Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born in Lima, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Walter and Margaret Burkholder. She was a member of New Haven United Methodist Church, the Parkview Ambassadors Club, and the Parkview Lunch Bunch. She retired from Parkview Central Service after 25 years.
She is survived by her sons, Joe (Judy) Swick, Dannie (Georgia) Shearer, Doug (Vickie) Swick, Bill (Millie) Shearer, Harry (Billie) Swick, and Rob “Robin” Swick; step-daughter, Janice Desch; sisters, Dorothy Roach, Waldine Brenneman, and Martha Burden; 21 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Joe Swick, Sr., and Wilbur “Bud” Shearer; children, Carletta Swick and Phil “Butch” Shearer; and siblings, Velma Louise Burkholder, Phyllis Lawson, Evelyn Hawke, and Richard Wilson.
Funeral service is 5 p.m. Saturday, January 15, 2011 at New Haven United Methodist Church, 630 Lincoln Hwy E., New Haven with calling one hour prior. Pastor Rick Taylor officiating. Calling is also 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 14, 2011 at the church. Burial is 9 a.m. Sunday, in Allentown Cemetery, Allentown, Ohio. Preferred memorials are to New Haven United Methodist Church. Arrangement by E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven.
