Walter Daniel Savieo's Obituary
Walter Daniel Savieo, 89, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Monroeville, he was the son of the late Fredrick and Mary Savieo. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Fort Wayne. The US Army veteran served his country in World War II and was a member of American Legion Post 97, Auburn. He retired in 1976 from International Harvester after 33 years.
He is survived by his children, Margie (Don) Murrow of Lakeside, AZ, Rita (Dan) Puckett, Linda (Steve) Herrberg of Fort Wayne, Gloria Ford of Fort Wayne, John (Patricia) Savieo of Roanoke, Mary Lou Aguirre of Greensboro, NC, Nancy (Jim) Marshall of Fort Wayne; brother, Theodore Savieo of Payne, OH; 11 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, four sisters; two brothers; and longtime companion, Wanda Elliott.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1702 E. Wallen Rd., Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior. Father Polycarp Fernando. Calling is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with a vigil service at 3:30 p.m. Burial is in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven with military honors. Preferred memorials are to Honor Flight.
