Walter "Walt" Donley's Obituary
Walter E. “Walt” Donley, 84, of New Haven, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023, at Parkview Hospital Randallia, Fort Wayne. Born in Auburn, Indiana, he was the son of the late Samuel and Donna (Mock) Donley. He retired in 2002 after working for 39 years at Zollner Corporation, Fort Wayne. He proudly served his country with the US Army. He often attended the German Club, Fort Wayne. He enjoyed playing in a golf league, bowling, and fishing. He especially loved spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sonja (Holzel) Donley, children, Denise Buit, and David Donley; sisters, Linda (Larry) Steckley, Sonya (Adrian) Nowles, and Patricia Hammel; grandchildren, Nicollette Donley, Samantha Donley, Erin Buit, and Evan Buit. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Nina Kinnison. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven, Indiana, with visitation two hours prior (Noon to 2 p.m.). Burial in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven, Indiana with military honors. Preferred memorials are to Parkview Hospice, Fort Wayne.
