Viola Marie Anna (Werling) Bearman, 101, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Adams Heritage, Monroeville. Born in New Haven on September 23, 1920, to the late John and Johanna (Pollitze) Werling. Viola became a child of Go Read Obituary
Aunt Viola! Such a wonderful and sweet woman. She will be missed. She has been ready for a long time to be with her Lord and Savior, and to be reunited with her family. My family and I loved her so. She touched everyone she met, in her own special way. We all have our own special memories of her. We love you Aunt Vi! Your niece, Jill and family. Jenny and Allen and families, your in our thoughts and prayer's.
How very blessed we all were to have Aunt Vi as a part of our family! She reminded me so much of my grandmother and her sister Naomi; always a kind heart for others. I know my dad, Barry, enjoyed his visits with her until he was no longer able to do so. I imagine he is one of those waiting in a long line to give her a welcoming hug.

Vi was a wonderful, Christian lady. I met her when I studied theology at Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne back in 1978-79. She found out that I was a Werling studying for the ministry and made a point to contact me. We had a number of conversations about family roots and family life, but especially about the life of faith in our Lutheran heritage and churches. Vi stayed in contact with me during my ministries in Lutheran churches in Nebraska. A number of years ago my family enjoyed a Werling Reunion in New Haven, had a chance to visit the old Werling place on Werling Road, and met so many wonderful Werling relatives. Vi was so special, I enjoyed every moment I shared with her. She was always full of love and joy. Loved her family deeply and enjoyed her church family. One particular visit stands out to me, her dear friend Ruth and I visited and we met up with Vi and Alice sitting in hall waiting on chapel to begin. We all sat and talked awhile, then Vi said let's sing! I put music on my phone and the 3 of them were singing Amazing Grace, it was so beautiful! Ruth and Alice both had their heads down as they did often. I took a photo of them...I took another when they were done singing. Their heads were lifted up!!!! I showed them how being together and lifting their voices to God together raised their heads. They were amazed. Vi had that effect on people. You always were lifted in spirit in her presence. God has a special Angel in heaven. I'm sure Ruth, Alice and Vi are together forever....
Vi was a mainstay, growing up in Soest Church. Her sweet smile and calm spirit lives on in our memories. Rest in peace, Dear One, Judy Spieth Justice

Aunt Vi just made my heart sing! She carried the spirit of the Lord to others all her life, those that crossed her path were so blessed. She lived a long life to share those blessings with others, God sent us an angel on earth. I can see her now laughing,dancing and singing His praises with all our loved ones in heaven.
