Vernon "Butch" Clarence Kinney Jr.'s Obituary
Vernon C. “Butch” Kinney Jr, 66, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Parkview Hospital Randallia, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Vernon and Dolores (Flotow) Kinney Sr. He was a past member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, New Haven. He retired in 2016 from FedEx with over 25 years. He was a member of the Maumee Valley Antique Steam and Gas Association, New Haven. He enjoyed antique cars, go-cart racing, and trains. He was also a history buff who enjoyed watching old westerns and 80’s cartoons. He is survived by his children, Brooke Kinney and Paige “PD” Kinney both of New Haven, Ernie (Heather) Kinney of Monroeville, and DeAnna (Thomas) Kinney-Smith of Fort Wayne; siblings, Robert (Vangie), Darrell, Mark, and Jeff (Dolly Hart) Kinney, Sherry (Dan) Ungemach; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, Tammy in 2018; daughter, Heather Potts-Villabos; and brothers, Scott and Donald Kinney. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Saturday at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 Friday the funeral home.
