Velma M. Notestine's Obituary
Velma M. Notestine, 83, of New Haven, died Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at New Haven Care and Rehabilitation. Born in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Alfeld. She retired in 1981 from International Harvester after 36 years of service. She was a life member and past president of the New Haven American Legion Post 330 Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Jack; step-children, Kent (Becky) Notestine of Woodburn, Connie Wannemacher of Fort Wayne, and Kim (Kerry) Hicken of Roosevelt, UT; sister, Carol Wessel of Fort Wayne; and 14 nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by daughter, Valerie Austin; and five siblings.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2012 at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling one hour prior to service. Pastor David Stecker officiating. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2012 at the funeral home with 7:30 p.m American Legion Post 330 Auxiliary service. Burial in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to Riley Children's Hospital.
