Thomas Emory Rhoades' Obituary
Thomas Emory Rhoades, 71, of Woodburn, died, Monday, June 6, 2011 at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born in Morgantown, West Virginia, he was the son the late Wilbert and Mattie Rhoades. He was a member of North Scipio United Methodist Church, Harlan. He retired in 2004 from Hanson Aggregates and was a member of Operating Engineers Union Local 103.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Rhoades; sons, Thomas (Colleen) and Jeffrey Rhoades both of New Haven; siblings, Wilbert of Fort Wayne, Theodore of Conn., Nancy, Marian, Lily Mae and Lois Ann all of Morgantown, WV, and Linda of Grafton, WV; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dusty.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Wednesday at North Scipio United Methodist Church, 23628 St. Rd. 37, Harlan with calling one hour prior. Pastor Keith Schreffler officiating. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial will be in Scipio Cemetery, Harlan. Preferred memorials are to the North Scipio United Methodist Church, Harlan.
