Terry Michael Melcher's Obituary
Terry Michael Melcher, 74, of Woodburn, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born on June 15, 1951, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Otto and Marie Eleanor (Paterson) Melcher. Terry graduated from Woodlan High School in 1969. He dedicated over 40 years of his life to his work at Erie Haven, Fort Wayne, followed by his personal business, LTM Trucking, Woodburn. His career was marked by diligence and loyalty. More than his professional life, Terry was known for his generous spirit and commitment to his community. He loved his family fiercely and always freely offered help to those in need, embodying a kindness that touched many lives. Terry enjoyed tinkering, playing computer games, and collecting John Deere tractors. He especially loved spoiling his grandchildren. “His legacy of love and selflessness will live on in all who were fortunate to know him.” He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Linda Melcher; brother, Bill (Mary) Melcher; children, Jake Melcher, Jill (Eric) Schoolcraft, Brian (Angie Daenal) Andrus, and Kyle (Jasmine) Andrus; and ten grandchildren. He is also survived by his aunts, Peggy (Nick) Lake, Betty Paterson, and Barb Rainey; and his niece, LeAnn Dunaway, and nephew, Mark Melcher. Funeral service is 11 am Friday, September 19, 2025, at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the funeral home. Preferred memorials to Central Lutheran School, New Haven.
