Steven Lee Schaefer's Obituary
Steven Lee Schaefer, 57, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017 at home with his family by his side. Born in West Palm Beach, Florida, he was the son of Virgil and Doris (Collar) Schaefer, who survive. He worked for 29 years at Brookwood Cabinet Company and then for seven years at Benchmark Social Services (AWS). Steve and his family lived in Florida, Oklahoma, West Germany, Ohio, and Indiana. He especially enjoyed a cruise to Alaska, a trip to the Holy Land and a train trip to California. Steve enjoyed gardening, fishing (and catching larger fish than his father), watching college sports (Go Hoosiers!), following the Chicago Cubs, and reading. He had a soft place in his heart for animals of any kind, but especially dogs.
He is also survived by his sister, Susan Schaefer of New Haven; three uncles; one aunt; and numerous cousins.
