Steven Douglas Lothamer's Obituary
Steven Douglas Lothamer, 54, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Hospice Home, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, the career mechanic had worked for Homier and Sons, Inc., Payne, OH. He took his skills as a mechanic and helped many in need, often refusing payment. He was a member of Navy Ship 245 and Howard Bandelier VFW Post 2457. The racing fanatic loved NASCAR and was a hockey fan cheering on the Komets. When he wasn't watching one of his favorite sports, he could often be found fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl (Richhart) Lothamer; mother, Darlene Lothamer of New Haven; children, Jacob (Mickinna Ford) Lothamer of Fremont and Lynsie (Kyle Reau) Lothamer of Angola; step-son, Kaleb Streets of New Haven; brothers, Lonnie (Pamela) Lothamer and Randy Lothamer both of New Haven; sister, Sandy (Timothy) Bush of St. Joe; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Lothamer; and son, Christopher Lothamer.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Tuesday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling one hour prior to service. Father Steve Colchin officiating. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial in St. Louis Catholic Besancon Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to Turnstone.
