Steven "Red" Elser's Obituary
Steven Ray “Red” Elser, 53, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017 at his residence. He was the son of Patricia (“Pete” Frank Miller) Frymier, who survives and the late Raymond Marcus Elser. He worked as a realtor, owned, and operated several properties, and restored historical houses. He also was an auto salesman. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven, The Realtor Association, and the American Legion, Albion. He graduated from Central Noble High School in 1982 and was active in Drama Club, and Choir. Steven loved his pets and had several dogs, birds and other animals. He enjoyed holidays, especially Christmas decorating.
He is survived by his wife, Carol (Koenemann) Elser; sister, Joan (Thomas) Brown of Fort Wayne; brother in law, Chuck (Sandy) Koenemann of Monroeville; nieces and nephews, Jordan and Corrine Reynolds, Ben and Jessica Koenemann, Sean Tadsen, and Angela Brown; great nieces and nephews, Charlie, Ezekiel, James, Braxton, and Isaac; step-mother-in-law, Evelyn Koenemann of New Haven; step-brother-in-law, Keith Koenemann of New Haven. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Roman Joseph and Laren Elizabeth Steigmeyer, Frank and Wanda Stuerzenberger; step-father, Clinton Mack Frymier; Niece, Ashley Tadsen; sister-in-law, Jean Koenemann; mother-in-law, Rosalyn (Carl Coble) Koenemann; and father-in-law, Edger Koenemann.
Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 943 Powers St., New Haven with calling one hour prior to service. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. with prayer vigil at 6:15 p.m. Father Bill Sullivan and Pastor Chuck Koenemann officiating. Burial in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ or to the church.
