Steve H. Chaney, 48, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at home with his family by his side. Born in Hartford City, he was the son of Rex and Anne Chaney who survive. He was a graduate of Blackford High School, Hartford City, where he holds a pitching record and was named to the 1985 Indiana All-Star Roster. He was a member of Blackhawk Ministries, Fort Wayne. The US Air Force veteran served his country during Desert Storm. He retired from ABB Inc. with 16 years of service.
He is also survived by his wife, Judith; children, Bryce (Hillary) Chaney and Shaylee Chaney both of Fort Wayne; sisters, Linda (Kevin) Karr and Leisa (Dave) Fillman both of St. Louis, MO; and granddaughter, Evelyn Chaney; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service is 6:30 p.m. Monday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling from 3 to 6:30 p.m. prior to service. Rev. Todd Ladd and Rev. Rick Mann officiating. Preferred memorials are to Heartland Hospice or donor's choice.
