Stanley "Stan" Hale Lake's Obituary
Stanley “Stan” Hale Lake, 94, passed away Monday, April 17, 2017 at home with his family by his side. Born in New Haven, he was the son of the late Edward and Fannie Mae (Perkins) Lake. He was a past member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Saint Joe. He served his country in the US Marine Corp and retired from Norfolk and Southern Railroad after 34 years. Stan loved to farm, race horses, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ruth “Liz”; son, Stanley (Janis) Edward Lake of Bristol; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and one great great grandson. He was also preceded in death by his sons, Michael Lynn Lake and Vernon Jay Lake; four brothers; and one sister.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling one hour prior. Pastor Jim Platner officiating. Calling also 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial in IOOF Cemetery, New Haven with military honors. Preferred memorials to Woodburn Fire Department.
