Stanley Allen Spieth's Obituary
Stanley Allen "Speedy" Spieth, 64, of New Haven, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne after a cardiac episode. Stan was born on July 26, 1959, in Decatur, Indiana, the son of the late Herman F. Spieth and Evelyn (Minnich) Spieth. His mother survives. He married Gina M. Spieth on August 3, 1985, in the St. Louis Catholic Church, Besancon. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, Besancon in New Haven, Indiana. Stan served as cemetery sexton for St. Louis Besancon for many years as well as actively serving the Church in many capacities. He was also an active member of the VFW and Navy Club. Stan was a graduate of Heritage High School Class of 1977. Stan was an auto body mechanic at Automotive Marketing in Hoagland for more than 40 years. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Chicago Cubs and the Butler Bulldogs and attending the annual Indianapolis 500. He could be found sporting a neon shirt and a baseball hat while saluting the peace sign.
He is survived by his children, Lisa M. Spieth of New Haven, Laura R. Spieth of Indianapolis, and Ryan W. Spieth of Denver, Colo.; siblings, Angela (Matthew) Meyers and Donna (Michael) O'Shaughnessey both of Fort Wayne, Sherri (Mitchell) Mailand of Hoagland, and Doug (Robin) Spieth of Monroeville. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 22 years, Gina in 2007.
Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Friday, January 26, 2024, at St Louis Besancon Catholic Church, 15535 Lincoln Hwy E., New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also from 1 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with a rosary at 7:30 p.m. Burial in the church cemetery.
