Stanley Eugene McBride's Obituary
Stanley “Stan” E. McBride, 89, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Parkview Hospital Randallia, Fort Wayne. Born in Decatur he was the son the late Willard and Gladys (Spade) McBride. He was a past member of the Lifeway Wesleyan Church, Fort Wayne. He was a Railroad Clerk and Office Manager for Conrail for 40 years and retired in 1992. Stanley also worked at the Allen County Library, genealogy department, Fort Wayne. He proudly served his country with the National Guard for 13 years. Stanley enjoyed painting and following the Tincaps and the Cubs.
He is survived by his children, Stanley Eric McBride of Fort Wayne, Susan (Mark) Creager of Woodburn, and Rachelle McBride of Fort Wayne; 16 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, L. “Jean” McBride; daughters, Debra McBride, Sherri Tholen, and Vicki Spear; granddaughter, Heather Spear.
Funeral service is 11:00 a.m. Friday at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Pastor Gregory Zern officiating. Burial in IOOF Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to Parkview Home Health and Hospice, Fort Wayne.
